Horses At Lowfold
Lowfold is a farm near Wisborough Green in quiet countryside. These horses were grazing in a paddock south of the buildings and is bordered by a Public Bridleway.
These horses have rugs on and appear to have fly veils which are put on when they are out to grass. The flies were a bother to me when I took this picture, so goodness knows how the horses cope with them as they must be a confounded nuisance! There are a number of different types of rug that horses have that are designed to keep the horse either warm in winter when outdoors or cool in summer. Summer Sheets are used in the summer to keep the sun and flies off the skin of a sensitive horse which maybe what these horses are wearing.
