We are family

Today was a good day. A little scary to be on my own (well as on your own as your can be in a noisy, brightly lit ward) over night and missed the fella but MBD was great except for not settling after her 430 feed - I think she couldn't quite believe I was next to her so we had lots of cuddles. Managed to grab a bit more sleep from 630 to 9 so not too bad.

The fella spent the morning doing some much needed jobs so was a bit later in than I thought but made up for it by bringing me a Brie and bacon baguette from our favourite deli. Brie how I missed you! We then just spent time as a family chatting and playing with MBD - the fella bought in a toy and a book from home as she must be bored of her surroundings by now.

Today's visitors were my NCT friend who isn't due til Sunday - was lovely to see her and was touched she came in - the ENT doctor who confirmed her MRI scan didn't show anything up for them to be concerned about, the neonatal doctor who confirmed she was doing good, the midwife who checked me out and I'm doing good (forgot to mention yesterday that had my staples out - felt a bit weird but apparently scar is healing well) and finally my parents. They loved having the space to properly play with her and couldn't believe how alert and responsive she was. My dad in particular loved it! Also had some lovely emails from colleagues at work and a call from one in Spain. But had plenty of time in between for the 3 of us and it was awesome. Although it's been a tough week at times I feel closer than ever to the fella and love us being a family.

A lovely day rounded off by watching a bit of footy (Spain WTF!) and an early night for both of us.

So all looking good for us going home tomorrow.
