Weather vane

The direction of smoke from this chimney tells me whether it's going to rain. If the wind is coming from the north, over the land, we have dry weather since even if there are clouds all the rain (or snow) has already fallen on the mountains by the time they reach us. If the wind is coming from the south, over the sea, as it is today, we have rain.

It has been raining hard all morning, but I'm not complaining since the garden badly needs it - we've had a very dry winter so far.

I've blipped these roofs many times before - it's a lazy (or rainy day) blip as it is the view from our top-floor window. The most recent was on new year's eve - here - as the sun was setting, and with the wind from the south. Sure enough we did have rain on new year's day!
