St Mere Eglise

We are currently on the Cherbourg to Portsmouth high speed ferry.

We visited the Bayeux tapestry this morning which was interesting. I did manage to snap some pics despite the no photography rule which I think was to stop the use of flash. I decided to blip this reconstruction of the paratrooper John Steele landing on the church at St Mere Eglise. The incident was described in the 1962 film 'The Longest Day'

There was a really interesting paratroop museum which we visted before catching the ferry.
