Happy Feathers Day

Today's photo was going to be either Hubby and Daughter (Fathers Day) or Daughter and I in our Italy T-shirts watching the footie in the early hours of this morning.

However, the little birds decided to leave the nesting box this morning. As I drank my coffee I realised that the parents weren't flying in and out of the box. I was worried that something may have happened to them as they were nowhere to be seen. I went into the garden to investigate and could hear chirping coming from inside the box and then a little head appeared. I could hear the parents in the magnolia tree trying to coax the last little one out. He was very unsure about leaving the box and let me get quite close. Not long after I took this he flew out to join his parents and three other siblings in the tree.

So, really quite appropriate for Fathers Day.
