The Fog House

Difficult to find even with a large scale OS Map the Fog House on the lower slopes of Bennachie is a real hidden gem. Built into the side of a deep gorge underneath a 20m waterfall it is quite invisible to the uninitiated.
A 20th century forestry plantation has conspired with the landscape to camouflage the building which was once host to the landowners family on weekend picnic expeditions.
In many ways it rivals Ossian's Hall of Mirrors at The Hermitage in Dunkeld with a west facing window looking directly onto the waterfall.
