Dancing Bear

There are children laughing and dancing, adults mimicking poses, a thousand photos are being taken & all in response to art.

Yes...it's a life size bear made of feathers. It's one of 8 featuring in an exhibition at the NGV here in Melbourne. "You started it ... And I'll finish it" demonstrates the colorful genius of Italian sculpture Paola Pivi.

"What's it all mean you ask"?

We'll I'm not actually sure. It could be a profound political statement, it could be a comment on the wild party lifestyle of the animal kingdom, it could be a social commentary on outward appearances protecting emotional vulnerabilities, or it could just be that a creative Italian with too many feather boas worked out a new storage system.

What I can tell you is that everyone in this gallery right now is smiling, they're laughing, they're interacting and their lives, for this five minutes, are good! This is wonderful art to watch :)
