Lake Windermere

Visiting the Lakes this weekend. Staying in Ambleside and this morning played crazy golf and went to the Apple Cafe to have some of their delicious bath buns (delicious cherry buns). We then went walking and went from Ambleside to Bowness. Then we got the boat back the 6 miles across Lake Windermere back "home" to Ambleside. I was hoping to do some kayaking but the water sports centre is closed all weekend due to the Great North swim.
We then went to a great veggie Italian restaurant in Ambleside called Zefferreli's.
We planned on watching England's first World Cup match tonight but it doesn't start until 11pm and too tired from the long walk.

This blip is from the ferry we took across Lake Windermere (we took the ferry for 6 miles of the 10 miles of its length). The scenery is so beautiful here with all the mountains. It looks really cloudy and dark on the photographs but it was actually really hot today (about 25 degrees), I had to put factor 50 sunscreen on! Hopefully it will stay fine tomorrow as the husband is doing a 2 mile swim in the lake.
