Rumble in the jungle...

Today was Gala Day, and a great time was had by all. Apart from a few brief raindrops, it stayed dry and was a warm, if slightly overcast, day. The parade was impressive, with some very imaginative floats and a good turn-out from the 3 main local primary schools. Lots of other local groups, pipe bands and brass bands took part too. All in all, a succesful event!
Gala Day is a great opportunity for wandering about and bumping into old friends and acquaintances. After the parade, we headed for the Taal, our excellent local Indian restaurant, where there was live music, chilled white wine or beer, and those old Scottish favourites, pakora, chicken tikka and poppadoms! A few drinks later we returned home, to recover a little before going out again tonight....
