St Peyrey

With the temperature still in the mid 30s we travelled into the Rhone valley passing through orchards of cherries, peaches, and apricots. Above the village of St Peyrey the narrow track stopped by this sculpture where there were several donkeys grazing and above us the huge castle ruin of Beauregard. We did a circular trip back via Lamastre and Tournon stopping at several villages on the way. 15 miles up the mountains of the Ardeche twisting roads and 15 miles twisting our way down again and LOTS of gear changing, but a lovely day out.
