Life in a Northern Town

J for June - Journey

This is a Blip for posterity.

Sarah's last day at school.

A journey that started twelve and a half years ago with me leaving a screaming, wriggling, uncommunicative (and prone to stripping naked) child with strangers, at an unfamiliar school on the other side of town (major logistical problems for the next 7 years), coming home and crying all day.

It ends today with a young lady ready to embark on the next stage of her life.

We have had support from some incredible educators along the way, people who, despite the wrecking efforts of educational psychologists (grrr) and officials at the local authority (double grrr), have given Sarah the very best opportunities and throughly believed in her.

For anyone out there currently struggling along the way, remember the best views will come when you clamber your way to the top of the hill. Don't worry about the mountains in the distance, you'll conquer them somehow.

Journey's end.
