Reflections
Backblip
This morning Doug, Janelle (daughter) and I took to the streets of inner Christchurch - a first time for all three. We visited the cardboard cathedral which left an impression, the white memorial chairs, the colourful and vibrant container shopping complex (which has been moved slightly) .....
There is much construction going on all at various stages.....the fashion item of the day is high viz clothing :)
We were amazed and terribly saddened to see the areas this way, but on the other hand, we were impressed and excited to see parts of these areas taking shape and looking so good. Well done Christchurch.
We lunched in the sunshine along New Regent Street, sitting outdoors enjoying the warmth.
My blip today had to be with colour to show how this city is emerging. Chosen quickly from almost 200 images is the tram along the newly opened New Regent Street. I did love how the shop facades are reflected in the tram windows. Can you spot the photographer.?
This afternoon we have spent time with our families, now back with our friends for dinner and catchup time with an old friend also.
Tomorrow I'm off on a two day photography workshop.....Impressionist, yay looking forward to this.
