Three Johns

I had the pleasure, and I would say privilege, of meeting John Byrne today at the opening of his new show, Sitting Ducks at the National Portrait Gallery - which you must go and see.

Great painting of his friends and family - there's even Gerry Rafferty's beautiful hand painted guitar.

We had a long chat and discovered lots of common threads. Ive been an admirer of his works for as long as I can remember so it was great to meet the man himself.

I also got the chance to shoot a series of images on film and have been invited to visit him in his studio to try a formal working portrait.

Big him up - he deserves it.
