Mother and Child

Today was school sports day and with the weather forecast to be nice I managed to get a half day to go and support the twins. I am immensely proud of my little people, they are happy to participate and even at their young age can be seen clapping and encouraging the children in the other heats. I find it sad that some parents have a win at all costs mentality and shout at their little people, not encouragement but criticism. I was happy just to let the twins know I was there, the joy on their faces when they saw me was like a ray of sunshine to me, how I love them.

The twins are fiercely competitive but not to the extent that they are blinded by the need to win, they know no matter what I am the proudest parent no matter what. Mimi was up first and streaked away to a win, I was stunned by her speed and as she crossed the line she turned to me and winked as if to say "bet you never saw that coming" the bold bot not to be outdone won his first race too, a glimpse of things to come. 5 events, at the close of the day Mimi had two firsts and two seconds and Fraser three firsts and two seconds, fortunately they never went head to head today so that saved any niggling. Sadly dad let the side down, fourth in the dad's race but in my defence I was the oldest by eight years it transpired!!!!

Despite a lot of actions shots and the pose with the ribbon festooned chests today the shot is a tender moment a second n time between mother and daughter, there was a gentleness in this shot that just seemed to suggest that all was right in their world and I like that.
