Mother may I?

If I gave her "the nod", she'd be in.
It reminds me of the nursery rhyme:
"Mother, may I go out to swim? Yes, my darling daughter. Hang your clothes on a hickory limb, but don't go near the water."
We've trained her to stay out, but I would love to know what's going through her mind.

Today I am thankful for the little things, which include:
leftovers, fresh veggies from the garden & a power nap before our evening walk.
