Aberdeen: Old Ford Road

Having lived in London on and off for the best part of four decades before moving to North east Scotland, the name 'Old Ford' and the 'Old Ford Road' conjures up a certain image - and this is not it!

Old Ford Road in Aberdeen is close to the River Dee, and no doubt there was a ford here at one time. The area is turning from one of wide cobbled streets and fish factories, to one of old cobbled streets and contemporary office buildings such as this one.

The Old Ford Road in London is probably changing too: as the Old Ford page in Wikipedia says, "As a result of its proximity to the London Olympic Park, the area will gain regeneration" ...
