We have apples
The apple tree produced a fantastic display of blossom earlier this year.
However the unpredictable nature of the British weather meant I remained sceptical as to whether fruit would follow.
It seems I was right to be cautious. The earlier blossom has not borne as much fruit as might have been anticipated.
Nonetheless we have apples.
They are small and there I a long way to go before we can pick them to enjoy.
They may get eaten by birds or insects.
They may fall off.
They may get a disease.
I'm not going to count my apples just yet.
Tonight though, we have apples so we will celebrate this.
