Life through the lens...

By ValC

A quick blip taken this morning, when the sun was casting shadows over the garden.
Raining now!
Nearly finished packing.
Most things on the list ( very long list!) have been ticked off.
Just hope MrC can get everything in the car tomorrow morning!

We had a very interesting wine tasting last night.
Italian wines are so much more complicated than French.
They have such a lot of grape varieties I have never heard of!
One of the white wines we tasted was made of red grapes. You would never have guessed.
The grape variety was "Nero de Troia" Grown in Puglia.
We also tasted a red wine made from this grape. ( which I preferred)
Best wine of the night was a red :
Sampietrana Salice Salentino Riserva 2010.
Salice Salentino DOC Puglia. 13.5% vol. Made from the Negroamaro grape.

Told you it was complicated!
Won't see any of the ones we tasted in supermarkets!
The presenter who was really enthusiastic and interesting, has a small wine shop in Otley called ChezVin.

It will be French wines for us though from tomorrow

Don't think I will be able to blip for the nest few days, so will back blip when we get to Provence.

Take care every one, and enjoy the rest of the week.
