Hoppy Days

Quilted with love

A colleague made this beautiful quilt as a gift for me when I finished work for maternity leave in August. Ok so its not a great photo by any means, but I wanted to include this in Kerr's journal because it was such a lovely gift and it came with the following words:

Quilted with love

It's ok if you sit on your quilt,
It's ok if your bottle gets spilt,
If you swallow some air
and you burp, don't despair,
It's ok if you spit on your quilt.

There are scraps old and new in your quilt
put together for you on your quilt.
If your gums feel numb
'cause your teeth haven't come,
it's ok if you chew on your quilt.

We expect you to lie on your quilt.
If you hurt you can cry on your quilt.
On a cold, rainy night,
don't you fret; you're alright,
you'll be snug, warm and dry on your quilt.

(by Nancy Riddell)

This poem brought a wee tear to my eye when I first read it and I still love it now.

We are off to visit mum and dad for lunch today. My sister is going also with her baby girl who is 6 months older than Kerr. Daddy's back at work today and the washing machine is in overdrive. Was going to go to the baby clinic to get Kerr weighed but its still very slippy and cold outside so I think we'll put it off until next week.
