Barton Manor

Adjacent to Osborne House and once owned by Queen Victoria and then EdwardVII is the Barton Manor estate which surrounds the fine manor house mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

A couple of times a year the present owners allow their beautifully maintained gardens and woodland to be opened to the public for various charities attracting hundreds of visitors.

On a wonderfully hot sunny day it was a pleasure to walk around the grounds which include flower borders, a lake with boathouse and shady areas of woodland.

The estate was once owned by the late Robert Stigwood the impresario of B Gees fame.
