The tree before the storm

We went camping. For Lily's birthday treat. To a really lovely campsite in Fife, recommended by the very kind tent donators. We had a great walk through the woods to the local village, had some late lunch (thankfully) in a cafe and then got ready to head back. We had checked the forecast, so knew there may be showers, but we were optimistic that we could maybe create some sort of shelter around the campfire and still toast marshmallows etc. But. The rain was not showery. It was really really heavy. And relentless. For about 5 hours. The tent leaked in many places. We almost packed up. But we drank wine instead. That made it a bit better. And of course the kids absolutely loved the whole experience.
