Turning two

I literally have hundreds of pictures to chose from today - opening presents, Chester Zoo, playing with JoJo, scooter Olympics in the kitchen - but in the end this one won taken by my brother-in-law as the look of sheer joy on Audrey's face says it all.

We braved weather warnings and made it to Chester Zoo. It ended up being more for my sister JoJo than Audrey though as she'd never been to a zoo and was enraptured by the animals up-close.

Audrey enjoyed the penguins but wasn't massively bothered by the others. She had most fun terrorising some ducks that just happened to be on the walkway and jumping in puddles!

Home with a quick catnap in the car and then a peaky (out last night) Laura and James swung by for restorative cuppas and cake. We took Audrey on her inaugural tour of the park with her scooter which is an absolute hit.

Am exhausted. What a day!!! No-one tells you how tiring kids' birthdays are for the parents!
