Sing...

I've spent most of my day off in the garden, and for the first time this year feel I'm pretty much on top of it. I did catch some of the D-Day commemoration on TV, hearing "Abide with me" sung at the service the Queen attended in Normandy.
Tonight there was a choir concert in church. I hadn't committed to going as its my day off, and we were a last minute replacement for a venue that had cancelled. The choir was from Frankfurt Oder, close to the Polish border in Eastern Germany and the singing was absolutely wonderful. The finale of "Abide with me" sung first in German and then in English was so incredibly moving, and such a poignant end to the day.
