Pond dipping...
In Shorne Woods Country Park.
As you can see - in the rain.
I have decided to put the children in this shot because I just loved their enthusiasm and absorption and I am certain they can not be identified (I blanked the only face showing).
The education unit there is great. We spent the morning catching beasties, identifying them and then making models of them with newspaper, pipe cleaners and such like (They were carefully carried home later in our - by then empty - packed lunch crates)
In the afternoon we played team building games in the woods where the winners won extra kit for their shelter making - which rounded off the day nicely. It was hilarious watching the children lugging about branches bigger than themselves and constructing it all using their tarpaulin, string supplies, and hands full of bracken.
The Ranger supervising the efforts 'tested' the shelters by sloshing water on them whilst the children sat inside!
