Macaque Monkeys
Hubby was working first thing this morning, so I took myself off for a long walk along the beach.
It's been pouring again, so I covered the camera and hoped for the best. I'd been walking for quite a while when I spotted movement coming from the rain forest (this starts directly from the beach and becomes thick and dense extremely quickly).
I watched and waited as a family of approximately 19 macaque monkeys made their way, from the tree tops and onto the sand. I'd been warned these cute looking monkeys can be aggressive so I exercised caution. However, typical of me, I wanted to get closer and closer to them in their natural habitat.
I took a total of 83 captures, each and every one trying to get closer and closer. I knew I'd pushed my luck too much when the biggest male ran towards me exposing his teeth and screeching at me!!! That was my cue to back off and thankfully, so did he.
This capture is heavily cropped but encapsulates, for me, a wonderful experience of animals in the wild.
