Mzmingos

MZ is the vehicle registration for Mainz and that makes these MZ-mingos and not Florida-Mingos (Flamingos)*.

I took myself off to the Rosengarten & Volkspark in Mainz today for a bit of a nose around. It was quite sad. The number of Mingos is way down from 2 years ago. The pen next door was empty and everything looked a bit dishevelled.

And then I decided to do something stupid.

I decided to walk in to the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). I don't know Mainz well. It's fair to say I don't really know Mainz at all. I thought I'd head for the cathedral (der Dom) and then look for signs to the station.

Getting to the Dom was easy.

Finding the Hbf wasn't.

After 50 minutes or so, I eventually found it in completely the opposite direction to where I though it was. It was really hot as well so I was a bit sticky. Walked into the station and saw that there was a train at 11:27. Sadly it was 11:30. But I hoped that the train might be running a bit late - that happens a lot.

Sadly not this time.

But the next train is in half an hour. No worries.

Except that it was delayed...

I shall spare you a second rant in 2 days by not telling the story of the visit to the doctor that didn't happen. I suspect there was an element of Spaß mit Ausländern there and I'm not very happy.

However, this is funny.
