Naked

Although similar events take place in other cities around the world, there is something very Brighton about the annual Naked Bike Ride. My first encounter with it was some years ago, when I was helping to escort a party of French exchange students visiting my daughter's school to the Pavilion and happened upon it - and managed (just) to resist the temptation to tell our astonished visitors that, contrary to anything they may have heard, this is England and this is what we do at weekends ...

Anyway, this is another mural from the evolving Elder Place project near where I work, close to the one I blipped a week or two back (ironically enough it's one of the first things I see on the way home as I emerge from the office bike shed). Sadly, but, perhaps inevitably, it had acquired some embellishing graffiti but that's now been cleaned off.

And the bike ride itself is this weekend. Let's hope the weather is benign.
