Snapshots of rural France

Smile...

For the first time in a couple of months I found myself happily smiling today from the moment I woke up!

I have been able to concentrate on reading again over the past day or so and finished The Kill List by Frederick Forsyth yesterday. I looked at my bookshelf of unread books for my next read and picked up the Island by Victoria Hislop. I have just finished it. A brilliant read, a difficult subject but well written and I wondered why had I not read it before. Mum I think you gave it to me years ago!! Luckily you gave me two of her books so I will move onto the next straight away!

Also did some shopping today and picked up some lamb shanks, which we have never cooked before, and I enjoyed finding a recipe and cooking them. The meat simply fell off the bone they were delicious!

So I am now reading again and cooking again; A step in the right direction I hope.

I have a former colleague dropping in for a drink after work tomorrow, he is taking my gîte clients house-hunting for the day. I am looking forward to seeing him, he's a nice guy.

Take it easy folks.
