Gin Palace Under Seige!
Backblip
We were supposed to go to Alan’s school fayre this morning but Alan has been so tired this week (falling asleep in his wheelchair during the day, which is so unlike him) that we asked him yesterday evening if he wanted to go or have a long lie. Unsurprisingly he chose a long lie. Teenagers!
Just as well he did though as D & I slept till 10.00am and Alan till 10 to 11! We were all shattered!
And so our lazy day continued. At 2.00pm we had a visit from one of the ladies we interviewed last week for the post of support worker for Alan. This was part 2 of the interview process where she got to meet Alan. We chatted with her first to give her more information about him then I took her through to Alan’s room to meet him and left them together for a little while. He knew she was coming and was looking forward to meeting her.
And the good news is they got on like a house on fire! Phew! She seems really keen so fingers crossed it all works out.
After she left, D went in search for gas for the BBQ but for reasons not worth detailing the BBQ didn’t happen. Instead we all soaked up the sunshine till about 8.00pm, with husband and son enjoying the decking at my Gin Palace a little too much for my liking. Hope they’re not getting any ideas of their own for it!
All in all a lovely, sunny family day. We need more of these.
PS Concert was really good last night. Saw a lot of people I hadn’t seen for ages including Lorna who I went to ante-natal classes with! I haven’t seen her since Alan and her son Lewis were about 3 years old! So lovely to see her and hear how Lewis is doing. We are going to meet up properly over the summer and have a proper catch up. :-))
