Bottle brush

A native tree to Australia is the "Banksia" which was named after the English botanist Sir Joseph Banks. He was a member of the Endeavour expedition that discovered Australia with Captain James Cook at the helm.
These trees are often called the bottle brush tree for the unusual flower and seed pods that they display.
There are many varieties over most of Australia and they are an excellent garden tree as they display most of the year and seem to be impervious to insects and fungus.

I haven't tried them as a bottle brush but it could be a challenge.
