Wedding in the rain

What to do when you choose the perfect spot for your beach wedding - and are greeted with torrential rain? Well, the beautiful young couple waited a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time for it to ease before braving the downpour and proceeding from the house to the altar on the beach. Meanwhile, most of the guests stayed under another glass-roofed, candlelit shelter, shivering somewhat if they had followed the suggested dress code of light, summery clothes - and the children paid no heed to the weather. I came across the little boy on the swing having his sopping wet clothes changed for at least the second time.

The answer, of course, was to dance, which is what all the young and not a few of the old did right after the ceremony - and the delicious buffet dinner. In spite of the cold and the rain, it was a lovely, happy occasion, and the venue couldn't have been more beautiful.
