Personal wheat field?

Just by the garden wall we have been invaded by some cereal from the field over the railway. I presume it is wheat. I'll have to dig it up because I am coeliac, and wheat contains gluten...

It wasn't what I had in mind when I suggested to the Head Gardener that we turn the garden into a wildflower meadow — for the sake of wildlife...

Positive response from her to my suggestion has not occurred yet. I'm still hopeful, though...

Of course, the apparent 'cereal' may just turn out to be a grass that we haven't got in the rest of the garden, of course.
