A slice of Lesley's life

By Lesley

And now for something completely different

After a bit of a lie-in, we breakfasted on fine bagels (see yesterday) and headed to the Royal Albert Hall for a coffee, pastry and classical music concert put on by the Royal College of Music. Apparently they have been doing concerts in this room for 130 years. Today's musicians were a pianist and a saxophonist. The setting is fairly informal and it lasts about an hour which was about the perfect length for everyone. As with all these things there were parts that were less engaging, though interestingly different for all of us, but overall it was much enjoyed by all. Hard to take a good picture of this great setting if you are also trying to get the gloriously blue sky and the Albert Memorial as well as the bright red baby grand used by Elton John on his Big Red Tour but you get the gist.

Home for lunch and to take Anna to a party for the whole afternoon whilst we headed out into the sunshine for a walk along the river.

End of the holiday? Fingers in ears, la-la-la...
