A very enjoyable day of visiting parks and looking at art. In the morning A and I headed up to Grace Cathedral where there was an installation called Graced with Light that I wanted to see, it consisted of 20 miles of ribbon hanging from the vaulted ceilings of the cathedral, it was incredibly simple but effective - will load photos to Flickr very soon.

We then headed out to Golden Gate Park to the de Young museum, I took far too many pictures from the tower, it was a cold and foggy day (sweater and scarf and I still wasn't warm enough) but the view was still spectacular. We looked at a collection of Native American art that was just beautiful, the painted bowls were my favorite and I had hoped there'd be some postcards of them, but no. (Museums seem to be getting worse at doing decent post cards, in my opinion.) And then a photography exhibition of the The Bay Bridge being built which was really great.

In the afternoon we walked over to Mountain Lake Park which is on the southern end of the Presidio. The park has undergone major rehabilitation, the lake had been toxic, but wildlife is returning and plants are thriving. It's a beautiful spot and once the trees grow in around the lake the roar and view of the traffic on Park Presidio Blvd will hopefully be less noticeable.

While waiting for the J Church at Church and 24th, two of the very large (and much hated by locals) Google buses stopped and dropped off their passengers at the muni stop.
