Birthday....Batman.......and Crabs.

A bit of a lie in this morning....because I forced myself to stay in bed after being awake at 2.30, 4.15 and again at 6.10.

Today is the Daughter's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Tuesday one of the hinges on the door of one of the fridges in this well equipped housebroke.........the Boss' brother Pete...the house owner....is coming up from Edinburgh to effect repairs.

As my knee was playing up again every one went for a walk to the local lochan and left me to wait for Pete's visit.........around 11.00 he walked in as if he owned the place...oh yeah, that's right...he does....we had a coffee and a chat.....the explorers returned...........the fridge door was removed....a new hinge was ordered....an internet trawl revealed that the broken hinge is a common fault in three year old IKEA fridges...guess how old the fridge here is.....guess where it was bought......

Lunch was the ubiquitous Scotch pies........and then we all set off for Port Appin....to go crab fishing...the Daughter's ( and Charlie's) request for a birthday treat. Here you can see them all looking for likely catches before starting the serious business. Two fun filled hours followed....many crabs were caught...and a crowd of mainly Americans and Scotsgathered to watch the crazy English!

A drink at the pub.......Pete set off back to Edinburgh just after 4.00.......the sky clouded over...the midges came out and we headed back to base.

A birthday barbecue and a Batman cake......she's only 27...she can have a Batman cake if she wants.

The little ones are off to bed.......now what should the adults do? Beer, wine, cider, vodka, bourbon and malt whisky might be involved.
