...are we going to see Thought Willy?....

Charlotte's question this morning as we decided to go to Fort William.

How much has changed since the Boss and I, D and V and B and S were there two years ago......weather was warm and sunny.......but the town was strangely depressing......no buzz......closed down shops.......nothing seemed to be going on....perhaps it's too early in the year

Charlie got a present...a soft toy.....a Highland coo.....promptly named Jasper!

We only stayed for about an hour........and then headed out past Ben Nevis.....and on to Neptune's Staircase. YH is a sailor herself so watching two boats progress down through the 8 locks on the Caledonian canal and on into Loch Linnhe was a treat.

We had a nice lunch at the canal side pub.......... an hour on the play park with Charlie......Hannah was mainly asleep.......and then back to Glencoe...........and out for dinner.....my treat.

We thought about the Glencoe Hotel........and the Clachaig to show the youngsters the photo of the Boss' brother Pete climbing a frozen waterfall in Glancoe.......but in the end opted for the new(ish) Glencoe Gathering.......it was excellent....and reasonably priced...........rib eye steak for the Boss........HUGE sausage butty for the Daughter.......HUGE burger for YH......fish finger butty for Charlie ( in reality two lovely fillets of fish).....a sea food kettle for the S & H.............and lobster for me. Beautifully cooked.....wonderful chips.....fantastic salad..........and good beer.

All back to the house by 8.00........another early night may beckon....it must be all the fresh air.

My knee has been hell all day..........I have it strapped with Kinesio tape...the stuff all the athletes have stuck to them.....bloody expensive it is too......either walking round the shore at the Sea life Centre and then the soft sand at the beach yesterday have caused more damage....or the trendy athletes gaffer tape has made it worse by moving the damaged ligament/tendon.
