Summer arrives in the Alps

This so typical of our area at this time of the year, the snow melts off the high meadows and instantly, the grass turns green. The high peaks are still covered in snow but it has a tenous hold. Soon the Dents du Midi will be rocky and brown again. Large if you like.

The fog rolled in as I scrambled up Mont d'Or this morning but occasionally windows appeared in the clouds and gave views like this, towards Mont Blanc which is very white at the moment!
