An Adventurer at the Gold Mines, California...

This grave was right next to yesterday's churchyard entry. Another sad inscription and after his 'adventure' he loses his eyes. Then his 4year old son dies a year later. I have written out most of the inscription below...

IN MEMORY OF
ISAAC HUGHES
FORMERLY OF PWLLMELYN.
HE WAS AN ADVENTURER AT THE
GOLD MINES, CALIFORNIA,
WHERE, BY AN ACCIDENT, HE LOST
BOTH HIS EYES. HE THEN RETURNED
HOME, AND RESIDED AT
22 NEW STREET, MOLD.
HE DIED JULY 15, 1869,
AGED 39 YEARS.
(there is some Welsh which is indistinct, then
it goes on to say..)
ALSO ISAAC, SON OF THE ABOVE
DIED OCTOBER 24, 1870, AGED 4 YEARS
