Worm Cast Cloud
I took Lola for a walk on Sandymount Strand at evening, in my wellies, plashing out towards the quiet incoming tide, the last flush of rosy cloud mirrored in the worm-cast-speckled water. Everything seemed deeply still, long and summery, composed into the brighter side of sundown. Then I turned and saw this (above) scalloped swirl of cloud, a serious-looking dusk dwarfing St. Vincent's Hospital. Larkin might have had something to say about it.
