Floats

16.2C with some mist, especially over the sea. Brightening and warm in the afternoon. Light breeze.

I dug over one of the veg beds this morning. It will soon be needed for seeds and perhaps seedlings. It had become quite untidy with small weeds germinating and Sticky Willy (Goosegrass) beginning to appear. The hedge along the road that runs down to the shore is infested with Sticky Willy. No need to guess where it came from.

After lunch Maeve the deerhound and I went for our walk. Down at the shore the tide was almost fully in. The new fishing boat was moored at the outer edge of the channel through the rocks and a dingy was moored further inshore. The mist was thick enough over the sea to make it impossible to see across to the Fife coast. We passed one dog walker with two dogs.

The floats are still piled up in the structure at the edge of the beach. No sign of Shamara II going to sea yet this year.

This afternoon I mowed the back lawns and strimmed all the edges and the grass path that runs between my two main veg beds. The back garden could almost pass for tidy.
