Decoration Day

Alarm went off at 6:25 this morning. I thought I turned my alarm off last night because there was no school, but I guess I messed up.

Second alarm went off at 8:30. I got dressed and my mom drove me to the Wantagh Middle School parking lot for the Memorial Day Parade. Rob Seaman was trying to get everyone to march in unison but he was ignored.

Oh, Rob.

The parade march was hot and grueling, but at least I wasn't in the band! They were wearing black uniforms with big hats and all long sleeves. Sucks to suck, Kyle.

At the end of the parade we stopped to listen to people talk on stage. It was near the firehouse on Park Avenue. I don't know what the place was called and I really have no better description so I'm sorry.

Our county legislator Dave Denenberg was there and I took a selfie with him (as seen above).

I went back to Park (my dad's house) and played outside with Luca and Taylor's nieces, Abby, and the twins Sofia and Nicki. We were playing in the sprinkler and fighting with water balloons.

I also met Taylor's mom for the first time; she was pleasant.

I left to go to Old Mill (Mom's house) to just chill for awhile.

I read more of Aunt Diane's book and took notes. I'm hoping to finish soon and just give her a big blast of ideas.

Mom made meatballs, which is an alliteration.

Then Dad picked me up and I went to his house. There I watched some TV and now I'm going to bed.

Nitey nite.

P.S. Memorial Day was formerly known as Decoration Day, hence the title.
