Whiten Head from a beach near Durness
It's cold here. We're in Sutherland, northern Scotland, and have been exploring the coast and hills from this cosy little cottage 15 miles west of Thurso. The days are long: sunrise is at 4.30 am, and the sun doesn't set again until 10.00 pm. There is still a month to go until the longest day. I'm not sure how people here manage to get enough sleep in summer... I certainly don't, even though it has been cloudy much of the time.
I'll try to back blip a few images from the last couple of weeks, but I haven't had time to go through many of my images yet, and those I've looked at are disappointing, mostly because of the poor light (and also some poor technique). I am in awe now of those people who produce great photographs from this area. It must be so much harder when the good light is so fleeting.
