Thornfield Hall?
A visit to Haddon Hall today and we chose to wander the garden whilst it was still dry. According to one of the guides, the recent removal of roses and a less formal design has not gone down too well with more regular visitors but we liked it. Lots of roses, irises, alliums and peonies were all much brighter than the day itself. This shot is with the wide angle lens on the new gadget plus a bit of Snapseed faffing; I'm sure there are probably better shots on my camera but they are stuck there as far is blipping is concerned this week.
The Hall itself is really interesting with a lovely lime-washed oak panelled Long Gallery. It has been used for several productions of Jane Eyre apparently, though it didn't quite match our version of Thornfield Hall. A nice lunch and then home through Bank Holiday traffic and the Chatsworth estate with a stop at their farm shop for sausages, strawberries and beer. And then to the cottage having avoided the rain which did set in once we were back.
