Village Politics

N.Yorks. UK

Did a circuit of Fewstone reservoir today along with many many other people, their dogs and small children. They were all desperate for a café but the only facility easily available was a very small ice cream van.

A few people walked up to the very inconvenient café up a hill (designed to exclude the elderly, disabled, push chairs and small children) called the Fewstone Heritage Centre that has been lavished with lottery money (mostly from the poor) and is now enhanced with state of the art architecture.

Normally this place sells very tasty homemade cakes and sandwiches etc but because of 'Village Politics' they were only doling out puny biscuits. The cakes were at another location some distance away! The few customers there were up in arms at the lack of cakes. This is what happens when you rob the poor and give it to the rich. No cake.

I find it the most annoying café in England.
