Fotheringhay

The great thing about this job is the time in between collections. Got to do something with my spare time, so may as well go visit interesting sites.

Found myself in the vicinity of Fotheringay - famous for its castle where Richard III was born and Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded. Now, the observant amongst you may have noticed this is NOT a photo of a castle. Unfortunately (for me) the castle is long since gone. All that's there now is the mott (or is it bailey?) that it once stood on - which, lets face it, wouldn't have made for as pretty a picture as this fine church.

The most striking thing about what remains is...how very small it is.
