Oh what fun I've been having!

I've just started a little holiday, and right from first thing this morning I began to wind down. Flick and I would really like to have a wide-angle lens, so we went down to the local independent camera shop to see whether they had some second-hand ones in stock.

Unfortunately not - and the cheapest new one costs over £400. However they did have filters, and another thing we had really wanted was a polarising filter.
We bought one; as well as a few other bits and couldn't wait to try them out.

Since Flick can't use her DSLR at the moment, I got first go - down to the boating lake at sunset....

This shot is taken using the polarising filter in conjunction with an ND grad to balance out the sky. Since this was a first attempt using any kind of filter, I am well pleased with the result. Hopefully they will only get better.
