Feed me Daddy!

Worth trying large.

I filled the seed feeder up this morning and also filled the smaller one with mealworms. When I got home at 12.30pm the birds had already eaten a third of each. I sat having my lunch and all of a sudden there was a real racket outside. A large family of starlings had arrived for their lunch. I spent a very enjoyable half hour photographing them and it was non-stop. There were two adult males feeding about six babies and also about three other juveniles who were managing to feed themselves, although occasionally getting some help and tuition. One baby in particular was very demanding. It was fascinating watching them and there were so many I didn't know where to look!

I took rather a lot of photos and then spent half an hour processing them while the feeding frenzy continued outside. It has all gone quiet now ... perhaps because the mealworms feeder is now empty, they ate the lot!!! It was worth it for the entertainment though. Towards the end one of the ducks arrived and looked a bit bemused.

I ended up with so many shots I was pleased with. I've loaded another six on to Flickr, please have a look if you get chance. I am fascinated with the very last one of the sequence, which happened seconds after the baby had been fed the worms.
