Martha

This is Martha who lives in our garden with her husband Fred. They are just 2 of 11 million wood pigeons who share these islands with us. As any farmer will tell you, their kind eat just about anything, but Martha and Fred specialise on hoovering up all the seeds that fall from the bird feeders onto our lawn patch of rough grass and moss. They make a very good living! They also spend a lot of time sitting on our chimney, coo-ing away in a most melodious fashion. The sound echoes down the chimney and fills the room with a very soothing sound. We like Martha and Fred!
