Beautiful, but a Killer

My kids would rather see people than flowers, but didn't get a good photo of them, so here is cow parsley, more poetically known as Queen Anne's Lace, decorated with rain diamonds. Went walking in the rain this morning - got very wet, but it was worth it.

Apparently, partly because cows no longer wander free and eat these plants, they are taking over the countryside, obliterating smaller flowers - as are nettles (Britain's most common plant now) and brambles. If interested, see here.
