Big work event today. I was coordinating our biennial Ruth Rendell short story competition awards ceremony. This year, it was held in the Mayor's Parlour in Kensington & Chelsea Town Hall. Very posh. It all went well; awards were awarded, speeches made, sandwiches eaten. By the time I got back to the office, I was knackered and more than ready for the huge beer I had when I met Els for dinner and the theatre. We went to see a play written about the history and origins of the butterfly stroke, which appears to have been completely fabricated. It was unexpectedly short though, meaning I got home an hour earlier than I'd expected, hurray!
